Science and technology have moved far ahead of us and are now trans-planetary, while human psychology has to resolve its dysfunctional dogmas and thereby embrace the brave new world of universal consciousness, love and compassion.

“Humanity has in the course of time had to endure from the hands of science two great outrages upon its naive self-love.
The
first was when it realised that our earth was not the centre of the universe, but
only a tiny speck in a world-system of a magnitude hardly conceivable; this is
associated in our minds with the name of
Copernicus (1473–1543)….
The
second was when biological research robbed man of his peculiar privilege of
having been specially created, and relegated him to a descent from the animal
world, implying an ineradicable animal nature in him: this transvaluation has
been accomplished in our own time upon the instigation of Charles Darwin (1809–1882) …
But
man's craving for grandiosity is now suffering the third and most
bitter blow from present-day psychological research which is endeavouring to
prove to the ‘ego’ of each one of us that he is not even master in his own
house, but that he must remain content with the veriest scraps of information
about what is going on unconsciously in his own mind.
We
psychoanalysts were neither the first nor the only ones to propose to mankind
that they should look inward; but it appears to be our lot to advocate it most
insistently and to support it by empirical evidence, which touches every man
closely.”
Sigmund
Freud (1856-1939) Founder of Psychoanalysis.

Comment:
The myth of cosmic,
bio and ego-centricism of the human species has been laid to rest. Along the
way, as the periphery of knowledge is being breached by science, the grip of the
racial, political, economic and religious dogmas of exclusion of yesteryears, and
also now on the minds of humanity are weakening.
While, we do not want
to ‘believe’ on the one hand, but on the other, the hunger for ‘belief’
remains. Besides grappling with travails of survival, one-up-manship and relentless
pursuit of pleasure, the pining to seek meaning for our existence, remains.
Humanity was unmoored from dogmas of voodoo science and religion at the end of middle ages and thereby democratic humanism gained ground which offered three grand ideas, - fascism, capitalism and communism, which competed in the 20th century as value-systems to organise society.
Science and the end of bloody World war II in1948 trashed fascism, based on ethnic racialism. The inherent staticity of communism lead Soviet Russia after 7decades to collapse in 1988.The global recession in 2008 signalled that capitalism is not working for humanity.
The matter-centered capitalism and communism resulted in centralisation of economic power in the hands of a few capitalists or the commissars and misery and inequality of billions of the rest of humanity.
The domination of
acquisitive psychology driven political economy, has to be challenged and a
liberation movement has to be launched against all kinds of exploitation,
- physical, psychic and spiritual.
Spurious nationalism, flipping ethnic racialism for religious racialism is being promoted by acquisitive classes to distract communities from exploitation and inequality. The biosphere that supports life on earth is under threat from environmental destruction, nuclear war and disruptive technologies.Only global governance structure can address these issues of existential threat to survival of human society.

Conclusion
Human Genome project, declares that ‘two random individuals from any group are almost as different
(genetically) as any two random individuals from the entire world’.
Thus, human species, humanity has one identity and destiny, and is indivisible.
The life and hunger
of humans is trifarious,- physical, psychic and spiritual. The fact is unlike
other species on earth, hunger of humans is insatiable. The search for Infinite
happiness is the humans DNA. Conflict is the result when it is sought in finite
physical objects.
Humans, plants, animals also have rights to the resources of the biosphere. This is neohumanism, that is humanism newly explained. The world is awaiting the bio-psychic evolution of human society from tribalism to cosmic universalism wherein, within and without are recognised as one divine expression.

The economy has to be
designed with cooperatives as chief and default organising principle of 'enterprise' for progressive utilisation of finite physical and infinite psychic and spiritual resources. It should ensure safety-net for all living
beings, incentivising entrepreneurial energy, with minimum wealth rising with the
maximum, for all.
The promise of advances in technology is likely to evolve, when work would not be of compulsion but volition, and leisure would be for cultivating aesthetic pursuits ; yoga/meditation for psychic expansion and spiritual ecstasy ; for wellbeing, happiness and bliss.

The neohumanist movement
for economic democracy in the
self reliant bioregions (241) of unique cultures and federal global governance with the clarion call to ‘Localise Economy ; Globalise Humanity’, alone will safeguard the cosmic fraternity of humans, plants, animals and even the inanimate.

great is our sin.
